EDUCATIONAL VISITS
If you haven’t already booked your next school trip we would like to invite you to consider the Animal Ark as an ideal location for your pupil’s education and entertainment. They can experience excellence and enjoyment in a stimulating environment in our 20 acre site which attracts a wealth of natural wildlife providing a diversity of habitats to support many mammals, birds amphibians, fish and insects.
Download an example of what we offer in relation to key areas of learning which meet the requirements of the national curriculum and reflects the finding of the Primary Review of the curriculum highlighted in the Rose Report. In particular we believe we offer a complementary environment to the classroom where pupils can gain a breadth of understanding of their subjects.
The example covers programmes of study in English, communication and language, mathematical understanding, scientific and technological understanding; personal, social and environmental understanding and physical health and well-being.
We believe that we have the expertise to tailor a visit to your requirements as we use the services of a teacher who has had 21 years experience as a primary school teacher
and 10 years as a headteacher. She now works for 3 local authorities as an Education Consultant.
We offer a wide ranging programme of fascinating and fun activities linked to the National Curriculum which includes live animal handling sessions (a choice of mammals, invertebrates, amphibians, reptiles, plant life or combination). For example:
- Guided tours of the 20 acre site exploring different types of animal habitats
- Animal care and welfare
- Animal families and social structures
- Survival linked to life cycles
In addition we offer:
- FREE Teacher pre-visit for site assessment. Download a Risk assessment for school visits
- Special rates for Schools and Pre-Schools
- 1 FREE adult with every 8 children
- Indoor classroom for wet days. We will provide a variety of fun puzzles and information sheets for indoor activities
Here you can download an example (requires Adobe Acroat Reader) of the types of activities and ideas for a day trip to the Animal Ark which can help teachers address many aspects of the curriculum by giving children a first hand fun experience. Give them a day out that they will remember forever!
We look forward to hearing from you soon but if require any additional information please ring 07817 689 676 or the Ark on 01603 872274 and leave a message. I will return your call as soon as possible.
